Healthy BBQ the EZ Way

One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to take advantage of our bbq pit while soaking up the sun! Grilling is a great way to get the bulk of your food prep done for the week. It requires little clean-up, which is even better! Some of our staples for the grill are:

Asparagus

Pineapple

Boneless/skinless chicken thighs

Portabella Mushrooms

Street Corn

Amylu Chicken

Andouille Bell Peppers

I believe cooking is undervalued. I find people don't cook because they were not given the guidance growing up; therefore, grocery shopping and the kitchen gives them anxiety. I can completely relate. If you haven't been adding vegetables to your grill routine, I would highly recommend starting. Vegetables should always be part of the main course. Sadly, the two most popular vegetables in America are ketchup and potatoes. With the variety of vegetables that the world has to offer, I know that we can do better than this. If you find yourself avoiding vegetables, it's generally because:

1. You didn't grow up with your parents making them with a ton of flavor.

2. You were forced to eat them and finish your plate, whether you liked them or not.

3. You didn't eat vegetables growing up.

Any of these sound familiar? You are not alone. The good news is that the more you eat them, the more you will crave them. Try doctoring them up with all different spices, and get creative! Three staples in our home are Coconut Aminos, Chili Lime Seasoning, and Code3 BBQ Sauce and their Everything Blend. Keep in mind if you need to drench your foods in a sauce to make it taste good, you probably aren't seasoning them enough.

What are some of your staples on the grill?
