Genetics
Genetics does have a role when it comes to your health but not as much as you think. Many contribute obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and other chronic diseases to pure genetics. Although it is a contributing factor, much of it stems from our own lifestyle choices. I believe how we ate as children can have a significant effect on how we choose to eat as adults.

Think back to the foods you ate as a child. I grew up on the standard American diet. I didn’t eat school lunches, my mom packed my lunch the majority of the time. I didn’t eat much fast food either (thank you, mom), but I will say, pizza was our emotional cure growing up. Until this day, pizza is my go-to comfort food. I can’t think of a time when pizza didn’t make me happy.

If you grew up eating a ton of meat, fried foods, desserts or pasta, chances are you will continue to eat that way. See how that all correlates? You can break the cycle. Break the cycle for you and your family.
