Facing Failure

Last week I got booked to speak for a local business that I had been doing some work with for a short time. I was set to speak at 11:15 and by 11:20 when only three people out of twenty showed, my heart sunk. I felt the tears fill my eyes, and at that moment I felt like a complete failure.
.
I decided to pull up my big girl pants and speak as if there were thousands of people in the room. I gave it my all and felt proud that I didn't let the low attendance break me.
.
At the very end, all three people told me how much I changed their lives. One man has lost 50 since I started with the company. The other battles with depression and has gotten it under control through diet, proper supplementation, stress techniques and exercise. The last person said his work had always been his life but I made him broaden his horizons. He decided to start a new hobby that brings so much joy to his life.
.
Hearing this forced me to take a step back and put things into perspective. Starting a Wellness program has never been about me. Even though I have had a rough go at it, I will continue to do this and help people one at a time. My goal is to have it evolve into hundreds at a time. It can be so challenging to not give up on myself but I am always up for a challenge.
