Weekend Binging

Do you catch yourself restricting during the week, and then binging on the weekends? If so, let me ask you a question; how’s that working for you? This is a vicious cycle that I see people make time and time again.

It’s not your willpower that is in question; it’s how much are you depriving yourself throughout the week? If you continue to repeat this pattern, you will without a doubt put weight on over time. In simplest terms, this is what is happening:
-
Your body, Monday through Thursday, is possibly taking in too low of calories, so it’s assuming that you are on a desert island without food in site! So, when you take in a surplus of crappy calories Friday through Sunday, not only can your body not utilize the crap you put in it, but it will hold on to those calories because it thinks you will be on a deserted island again. Therefore, you will not lose weight. In fact, you will gain. Frustrating right?
-
If what you’re doing isn’t working for you, it’s time to try something new. Allowing yourself things throughout the week will help to minimize your chances of binging on the weekends.

Craving wings? Bake them at home.
Want pizza? Try a cauliflower crust.
Want those Dorito’s? Find a cleaner brand (@sietefoods are the best) or eat a serving size. -
Break the pattern. It’s incredible how much good quality food you can take in, and still see amazing results. Stop depriving yourself, and give your body what it needs to thrive...nutrient dense food. Cheers to eating!

P.S. if you’re wondering how many calories you’re consuming, I suggest using a fitness app to track at first. So many people underestimate or overestimate how much food they’re actually taking in.
